What is a solar movement?
A solar quartz movement is powered by the sun and backed up by an internal battery. A solar powered watch has a unique design in which a solar cell sits behind a semi-transparent dial and collects energy from the sun (and even ambient light) throughout the day, keeping the movement going. It also stores extra energy in a rechargeable battery, which is used to power the movement when there is no access to a light source.
Why do you build with titanium?
Titanium is renowned for its toughness and corrosion resistance. Not only is it an ultra-strong metal, but it is also lightweight, making it comfortable on the wrist and wearable anytime, anywhere. Since we design all of our watches to be water ready and built to last, it is our preferred material to build with.
What water activities are safe with a 20 ATM rating?
A watch with a 20ATM depth rating is designed to be water safe for diving at depths of up to 200 meters (660 feet). Most people will never dive that deep, but a watch with this rating is built to handle it. One can certainly feel comfortable wearing a 20 ATM rated watch during normal water activities like surfing, snorkeling or just swimming in the ocean or the hotel pool.
What is the benefit of sapphire crystal?
Superior scratch resistance, unmatched durability and optimal legibility. Sapphire crystal is an absolute no-brainer for these reasons. All of our timepieces also use dual-layer AR (anti-reflective) coatings on the inside of the sapphire, to ensure the time is visible in any environment. We prioritize toughness and legibility in all of our timepieces and we won’t use crystals made from any other material.
